Thank you so much to everyone who donated extra snacks to our class. So far kids have been doing a great job of remembering their snacks, but it's always nice to be prepared just in case. I think we have enough for now, but thank you so much for being so thoughtful!  Just a reminder that conferences are coming up in two weeks! Click here to sign up if you haven't yet. If you need an alternate time or day, just let me know and I will make it work. I am also able to meet virtually. The kids have been working hard to complete their slides to present at the conferences.  Students needing to eat breakfast need to arrive at 8:10 and eat in the gym. Many kids are coming up to the room with breakfast and we have had many unexpected spills. Since we have a special at 8:35, they can't eat until after anyway...

I can't believe this is already the last week of September! We are very thankful for cooler temps upstairs. Routines and procedures are very important to our success in 4th grade. We will continue to practice every day! Please remember to send a water bottle and snack every day. This week was better with kids bringing the good fit books back & forth with the bookmarks. We have a normal week this week with a late start on Wednesday! This is what we're learning this week! Our P2 trait this week is Optimism. View the parent letter here . Students will begin to fill out their conference slides too. Reading: I am reading Winn Dixie as a read aloud & students will be using strategies in their good fit books. Math: Learning/...

For Back to School Night on Monday, we are trying to make it more interactive! We will show you how to access everything on your child's school device and will explain the daily expectations. Due to limited space, please leave your children at home if possible.  Here are the  Slides  if you would like to take a look in advance. There are signups for conferences and class parties.  Information about joining Safety Patrol is located at the end of the Slides. Since we are wrapping up NWEA reading and math, the kids will be starting to work on their conference slides. They will put a lot of time and work into these slides so that they feel prepared to lead their conferences with you in October. I think you will be so impressed with their knowledge and goal setting! Here is a preview of the blank  slides . In reading, we are still working on f...

Hope you are hearing great things about life in 4th grade! The kids have been doing so great learning routines and procedures. Attendance was 100% every day! We will be taking NWEA this week. The math test will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00. The Reading test will be given on Thursday and Friday at 10:00. Please try to avoid appointments or interruptions at this time. Kids may bring mints, mint-flavored gum, or sugar-free gum for testing to "wake up" their brains. Any extra gum will be sent home on Friday! At media center on Friday, students were able to check out books! Please ask your child to explain the process of reading a good fit book, using the bookmark , and completing a book reflection (google form) in Classroom after finishing a book to earn a touchdown.  Lexia was reset for all s...
