Hope you are hearing great things about life in 4th grade! The kids have been doing so great learning routines and procedures. Attendance was 100% every day!

We will be taking NWEA this week. The math test will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00. The Reading test will be given on Thursday and Friday at 10:00. Please try to avoid appointments or interruptions at this time. Kids may bring mints, mint-flavored gum, or sugar-free gum for testing to "wake up" their brains. Any extra gum will be sent home on Friday!

At media center on Friday, students were able to check out books! Please ask your child to explain the process of reading a good fit book, using the bookmark, and completing a book reflection(google form) in Classroom after finishing a book to earn a touchdown. 

Lexia was reset for all students. We will take the Lexia placement test at the end of the week. Your child's Lexia level may differ from last year, depending on the placement test results. Levels 16-18 are the 4th-grade levels. This will let me know how to better help your child!

Here are some important things to know:
  • students should be reading their good fit book every night & bookmarks should be initialed/signed 
  • planners should be checked and can be signed every night to keep our communication strong
  • please make sure your child has headphones/earbuds if possible(I have extras and will assign them to specific kids)
  • there are no specials on late start days
  • kids need a water bottle and healthy snack every day

                                                         Conferences are this week! Please click  here  to check your day & time. The kids have been working hard to complete their slides to present at the conferences. Due to the short time we have together & the length of the slides, I will most likely have you finish up your conference with your child in the hallway after our time is up. Last year the kids could finish at home, but with the Chromebooks staying here, that gets a little tricky. I will set up a desk with some chairs. Thanks for understanding! November 14 - 18

                                                         This week begins the student council stuff-a-truck food donation collection.  Students are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items to school each day. For a friendly competition, there will be a pizza party for the lower & upper el classes with the most donations. Thanks for your help in supporting our community! The Winn Dixie movie reward was a huge success! During the movie, kids were naturally comparing the movie to the book. It was fantastic to hear that the book was better and had more details!
