Anyone is welcome to join us on Monday from 2:00-3:00 for the class Halloween party. Reminder kids may come to school dressed in their costumes. Anything that interferes with learning or is a distraction should be kept in backpacks until the party and parade. The school-wide parade on the playground will start at 3:15, weather permitting. Thanks to all who helped!!  

Book reflections are ready for students to complete when they finish reading their books! Once they complete the form correctly in Classroom, they will receive a touchdown. The form will change depending on the reading strategy we are currently working on. The first book reflection is on theme. We will start main idea next week. 

Kids finished the math test for unit 2 last week on comparing & ordering fractions. They will be working during our Bear time to make corrections/improvements to their overall scores. The test will be sent home at the end of the week. This will be the only grade for math on report cards at this time. Extra practice in IXL 4th grade math in the O column will be helpful! We started with O.6.

With the rainy weather lately, indoor recess is more likely. Kids may bring in a board game, card game, or small toy on rainy days where indoor recess is expected. Thanks for keeping all electronics at home!

Our Laps for Lincoln party to celebrate our donations will be this Friday, Nov. 4 from 2:20-3:35. We need volunteers to help make this party run smoothly. If you can help at this time, please email Catherine Kirshenbaum at catherinebkirshenbaum@gmail.com. Thank you!

We are in need of glue sticks! Mallory ordered more, but in the mean time, if you have any extras lying around, we could definitely use them. We are also in need of a medium size tub to carry the cold lunch boxes in. Just to estimate the size needed, we have about 10 cold lunches daily. Thank you!

Here are some important things to know:

  • students should be reading their good fit book every night & bookmarks should be initialed/signed 
  • planners should be checked and can be signed every night to keep our communication strong
  • please make sure your child has headphones/earbuds if possible(I have extras and will assign them to specific kids)
  • there are no specials on late start days
  • kids need a water bottle and healthy snack every day

                                                         Conferences are this week! Please click  here  to check your day & time. The kids have been working hard to complete their slides to present at the conferences. Due to the short time we have together & the length of the slides, I will most likely have you finish up your conference with your child in the hallway after our time is up. Last year the kids could finish at home, but with the Chromebooks staying here, that gets a little tricky. I will set up a desk with some chairs. Thanks for understanding! November 14 - 18

                                                         This week begins the student council stuff-a-truck food donation collection.  Students are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items to school each day. For a friendly competition, there will be a pizza party for the lower & upper el classes with the most donations. Thanks for your help in supporting our community! The Winn Dixie movie reward was a huge success! During the movie, kids were naturally comparing the movie to the book. It was fantastic to hear that the book was better and had more details! We enjoyed popcorn, pickles, Dump punch, and root beer & strawberry candy. Thanks to those who sent in items & thanks to Maggie for making & serving the punch!
