I hope everyone had an awesome spring break! We have a pretty normal week this week. With the Lansing trip coming up on May 4th, I wanted to remind you in case you need advance notice to take off of work to chaperone. We can take 18-19 chaperones per classroom. To keep it fair, we ask that each child only bring one adult. More information will be coming as we get closer!

For those of you who are interested in having your child work on math at home, before break we did unit 6/lessons 12-14. This week we will be covering unit 6/lessons 15-19. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial to understanding this new concept of multiplying larger numbers and with the start of division.

Please send kids with boots or a change of shoes for muddy days at recess. The boots/shoes can stay in student lockers so they don't have to bring them back & forth each day. 

Our student council Coins for Community fundraiser begins this week. Students are encouraged to bring in any loose change they can donate to support our community.

Here are some important things to know:

  • students should be reading their good fit book every night & bookmarks should be initialed/signed 
  • planners should be checked and can be signed every night to keep our communication strong
  • please make sure your child has headphones/earbuds if possible(I have extras and will assign them to specific kids)
  • there are no specials on late start days
  • kids need a water bottle and healthy snack every day

                                                         Conferences are this week! Please click  here  to check your day & time. The kids have been working hard to complete their slides to present at the conferences. Due to the short time we have together & the length of the slides, I will most likely have you finish up your conference with your child in the hallway after our time is up. Last year the kids could finish at home, but with the Chromebooks staying here, that gets a little tricky. I will set up a desk with some chairs. Thanks for understanding! November 14 - 18

                                                         This week begins the student council stuff-a-truck food donation collection.  Students are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items to school each day. For a friendly competition, there will be a pizza party for the lower & upper el classes with the most donations. Thanks for your help in supporting our community! The Winn Dixie movie reward was a huge success! During the movie, kids were naturally comparing the movie to the book. It was fantastic to hear that the book was better and had more details! We enjoyed popcorn, pickles, Dump punch, and root beer & strawberry candy. Thanks to those who sent in items & thanks to Maggie for making & serving the punch!
