                                                        grateful

This week begins the student council stuff-a-truck food donation collection.  Students are encouraged to bring any non-perishable food items to school each day. For a friendly competition, there will be a pizza party for the lower & upper el classes with the most donations. Thanks for your help in supporting our community!

The Winn Dixie movie reward was a huge success! During the movie, kids were naturally comparing the movie to the book. It was fantastic to hear that the book was better and had more details! We enjoyed popcorn, pickles, Dump punch, and root beer & strawberry candy. Thanks to those who sent in items & thanks to Maggie for making & serving the punch!

Since Friday is a half day and the end of the 1st trimester, we will have a read-in to celebrate all our hard work throughout the trimester! Kids can bring blankets & pillows and are encouraged to bring as many books as possible. They will create a comfy reading environment for themselves and read for the entire morning.

Kids will be correcting assignments and taking assessments for report cards this week. Report cards will go home on Monday, 11/28.

Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing for outdoor recess each day! It's time to get out the snow gear and start packing snow pants, hats, and gloves. Let me know if you need any help finding cold-weather clothing. I'm glad to help!
