Our trip to Lansing is Thursday, May 4, 2023! 

Things to know……..

  • Check the weather in the morning! Please dress appropriately and wear comfy shoes.

We will be walking outside often! 

  • Chaperones and students will meet in the classroom at 7:15 AM. Chaperones will

receive an agenda, names of students in their charge, and instructions. The bus is
leaving at 7:30 AM promptly. 

  • Chaperones and students will need a morning snack, lunch, and a disposable drink

container. Everyone needs to keep their own lunch in their bag as we will eat lunch at
the Historical Museum at different times by class. 

  • Students may have one electronic device on the bus. 

  • Students may bring some money for the gift shop at the museum ($20 maximum & no

candy on the bus). 

  • Plan to pick up your child in the front of Lincoln School between 5:15-5:30. Please

make sure your child knows your phone number because kids can call or text from our
phones if the times change due to traffic on the way home.

For those of you who are interested in having your child work on math at home, last week we completed unit 7/lesson 7-9 on geometry. This week we will complete unit 7/lessons 10-13. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial to understanding this new concept of lines, angles, shapes, etc. 

Kiwanis Park - We will be walking to Kiwanis on May 30th. We will be changing our lunchtime on that day so we can eat before we go. We will not be eating at the park. We plan to be there from 1:00-3:00. More information will be coming. Parents/guardians are welcome to meet us there!

Here are some important things to know:

  • students should be reading their good fit book every night & bookmarks should be initialed/signed 
  • planners should be checked and can be signed every night to keep our communication strong
  • please make sure your child has headphones/earbuds if possible(I have extras and will assign them to specific kids)
  • there are no specials on late start days
  • kids need a water bottle and healthy snack every day

                                    For Back to School Night on Monday, we are trying to make it more interactive! We will show you how to access everything on your child's school device and will explain the daily expectations.                                                        The holiday party time on the 22nd will be moved from 2:00 to 11:45. Mrs. Knuth will be showing an all-school movie at 2:30, so we can't have our party at that time. Our class party with snacks & hot chocolate will be from 11:45-12:45 instead. Sorry if that interferes with your work plans. We would still love for you to join us if you can!  Ice skating will be Thursday from 11:50-12:30. Please feel free to join us at the skating rink! October 31 - November 4

                                                 Anyone is welcome to join us on Monday from 2:00-3:00 for the class Halloween party. Reminder kids may come to school dressed in their costumes. Anything that interferes with learning or is a distraction should be kept in backpacks until the party and parade. The school-wide parade on the playground will start at 3:15, weather permitting. Thanks to all who helped!!   Book reflections are ready for students to complete when they finish reading their books! Once they complete the form correctly in Classroom, they will receive a touchdown. The form will change depending on the reading strategy we are currently working on.
