May 8 - 12
We had a fabulous time in Lansing last Thursday! I hope your child learned so much and made memories he or she will never forget. If you chaperoned and have any photos from the steps of the Capitol Building, please email them to me when you get a chance. I would love to see them and share them with the other parents. A big thanks goes out to Stacey Tyburczy for washing the field trip t-shirts so they're ready for Friday's track meet!!
The track meet is Friday at the high school track from 11:30-2:30. Parents are welcome to meet us there and walk with us through the events. Students will compete in the 4 events that they have been practicing in PE. All students need to bring a water bottle to the track meet. We are in need of a wagon and a parent to pull the wagon with the students' water bottles around to the different events with us. Please email me if you are available! We are also in need of healthy snacks like string cheese, orange slices, bananas, and carrots to eat in the classroom afterward. Please let me know if you can send in any healthy foods with your child that day.
Yearbooks went home on Friday. If you would like to order a yearbook, there are still some for sale in the office for $12, or you can order one here. Use the code YB3718. We will have a yearbook signing day for all 4th graders in June!
Dress Code: Please remember to check your child's clothing before coming to school. We have seen some shorts that are too short and inappropriate for school. Students will need to call home for a change of clothes if anything is an inappropriate length or if too much skin is showing. Thanks for your help with this!
For those of you who are interested in having your child work on math at home, last week we completed unit 7/lesson 10-12 on geometry. This week we will complete unit 7/lessons 13-17. Practice using the IXL textbook would be beneficial to understanding this new concept of lines, angles, shapes, etc.
Kiwanis Park - We will be walking to Kiwanis on May 30th. We will be changing our lunchtime on that day so we can eat before we go. We will not be eating at the park. We plan to be there from 1:00-3:00. Parents/guardians are welcome to meet us there!
